Professional Experience
Jan 2019 - Sept 2024
Customer Service Associate, Walgreens Co, Edina, Minnesota (MN), USA (Store #2509)
My initial employment experience was with Walgreens, where I engaged in a diverse range of responsibilities within my designated role. These responsibilities encompassed both customer-facing retail operations (excluding pharmacy services) and administrative tasks such as photo and canvas printing and assembling.
My recruitment for this position was facilitated by a job developer from Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) (See Video).
During my tenure with Walgreens in 2022, our location achieved the distinction of ranking first in the district for Net Promoter Score (NPS). Additionally, I was nominated for the Champion of Champions Nomination in both 2023 and 2024. As a recognition of 5 years with Walgreens, I received a certificate and pin.

Summer 2017 - 1 Week
Summer Camp Counsellor, True Friends, Annandale, Minnesota (MN), USA. Camp Friendship
After a week of employment at camp, I realised that the work environment was not suitable for me. Additionally, being an Intern for Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) and receiving payment from MICC vs camp directly made me uncomfortable. So upon consideration of all relevant factors, I determined that it was time for me to go. MICC students participating in paid internships at True Friends must receive payment directly from the organisation henceforth from my understanding. Despite my departure from camp, I acquired valuable knowledge during that week of training.
I do not consider this my first paid job, as I was not compensated in the end. I do not harbour any resentment towards MICC or True Friends.
I had the opportunity to connect with individuals (camp staff) from various nations.
I acquired the skills to defuse tense situations with a peaceful approach and prevent escalation learned through CPI training and aquired a CPI BlueCard. CPI is not CPR.
I gained insight into the significance of team building activities in a summer camp setting.
That summer, I developed a deeper understanding of what I sought in a job. My experience with True Friends proved to be pivotal in shaping my career goals.
Education
2016 - 2019
Undergraduate Student at Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC), Richfield, Minnesota (MN), USA
In 2016, I enrolled as a student at Minnesota Life College (MLC). In 2017, the institution underwent a rebranding and became Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC). This program is designed to assist individuals with autism and developmental disabilities in acquiring essential life skills and employment-related competencies.
In the first year of the program, I participated in work readiness classes where we were assigned volunteer opportunities at various locations, including Arc Value Village, Good Grocer Co-op and Walgreens. Additionally, I enrolled in a leadership and team building class and was offered a summer camp job as part of my participation in this class.
In the second year of the three-year program, I enrolled in additional life skills and job skills courses. One such course was Northstar Digital Literacy, for which I successfully completed and received a certificate.
During my third year of the program, I participated in the MICC Careers Program - Retail Track. As part of this track, I secured an externship at Walgreens (Walgreens REDI Program - No Pay Volunteer Position) and continued volunteering at Arc Value Village and Good Grocer CoOp. The retail track was accredited by Century College. Through my participation in the MICC Careers Program - Retail Track, I earned 35 continuing education credits and 144 contact hours from Century College. I received a certificate from Century College via MICC.
A significant aspect of my third year was my participation in the RentWise program. Offered as part of the MICC curriculum, RentWise was a course taken by all the seniors in the class of 2019 who completed it at the MICC Main Campus. RentWise is a program accredited by the University of Minnesota. I received a certificate for this also.
Upon graduating, MICC surprised me with the Crutchfield Leadership Award. This award is usually given to big donors / doctors / people in the community, not usually a student from my understanding. I have a PDF of the Award.
During my 3 years at MICC, I had been serving as a Student Ambassador for Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC), providing campus tours to potential students, parents, and educators from other programs. Additionally, I had participated in student panels. Upon completing MICC's undergraduate program, I proceeded to become the institution's first virtual tour guide (See Video). The tour focused on the College, Careers, and Community Program, with production spanning from July 2019 to February 2020. It was a semi-scripted project that required memorization of lines.

I possess over a decade of experience as a Suzuki Violinist and Orchestra student at MacPhail Center for Music, spanning from 2001 to 2014.
Received private instruction from Joy Moeller.
Engaged in group lessons for approximately one hour each Saturday.
During my tenure at MacPhail, I had the privilege of participating in the Decapo, Sinthonia, and Chamber Orchestras.
Participated in Saturday group note reading class to acquire the skills of reading sheet music. Typically, Suzuki students develop the ability to play by ear before learning to read sheet music.
In 2014, I completed my senior essay and performed my senior solo. For my solo, I performed Prelude and Berceuse by S. Suzuki.
2008 - 2014

I then went on to a transitions program, Lionsgate Academy's A.I.M Program in North St. Paul, Minnesota. AIM stands for Achieving Independence and Maturity. During my time at AIM, I volunteered at many oddball places, including GoodRich Golf Dome, Arc Value Village, and Open Arms.
